Local groups entertain eekends in December HAMMOND I More than 40 local not-for-profit organizations decorated Christmas trees at the Indiana Welcome Center for the seventh annual Winter Wonderland. The holiday display also will feature live entertainment and free photos with Santa from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays starting this weekend. Families are allowed one free picture with an option to buy additional photos in the gift shop.

Live entertainment ranges from youth and church choirs to bands and performers. Welcome center visitors can vote on their favorite tree; first-, second- and third-place winners will be awarded. A variety of evergreen trees were donated by Tree Farms, Egolf Christmas Trees, Curtis Christmas Trees, Hensler Nursery, Guse Christmas Trees and Kingma Christmas Tree Farm. Winter Wonderland may be viewed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
