Shirley was 80 years young. She was the daughter of the late Otto and Teresa (nee Zasada) Kurczewski. Beloved wife of the late Walter "Spike" Goril; dearest sister of the late Virgie Hawk; loving mother of Jim (Sue) Goril, Susan (Peter) Lesko and Peggy (Dale) Wright; cherished grandmother "Gram" of Kendra (Joel) Baise and CJ Goril, Emily, Erica and Elizabeth Lesko and proud great grandmother "Gigi" of Rodney Garvey and Colin Baise.

Shirley greatly enjoyed and cherished her final year of life with her close companion, Bob. Shirley will be fondly remembered for her unconditional love of family, her abundant generosity, love of the beach, kindness to animals, joy of being with her grandchildren and great recipes. Her wisdom and love will always be in our hearts. Interment was private. Memorial donations to Nathan Adelson Hospice Foundation (www.nah.org) would be greatly appreciated.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Steve J. Horgash, one daughter, Barbara (Charles) King of Highland; two sons: David (Pamela) Horgash of Springville, TN and Stephen (Deborah) Horgash of Gray, TN; five grandchildren: David (Michele) Horgash, Christina, Robert, Stephen and Michael Horgash; two great grandchildren: Kaitlin and David Horgash; two sisters: Antoinette Olivotto and Nancy Roberts; brother, Ralph Nuzzo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Mary Nuzzo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

Josephine was a longtime faithful member of St. Catherine of Siena Church and the Hessville Chapter of T.O.P.S. Club. Josephine enjoyed reading a good book, knitting and cooking for her family and many friends. She was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan.

Reed, age 87, passed away on March 17, 2011. She was an area resident since 1956, and is remembered as a very efficient homemaker and wonderful cook.

Reading was indeed her lifelong passion but she was also an avid fan of the Indianapolis Colts. Dorotha adored spending quality with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition, she truly enjoyed flower gardens. Her beloved husband of 55 years, John C. Reed, preceded her in death.

Dorotha is survived by three daughters: Sherry Grainger of Tulsa, OK, Kathryn Spaetti of Catoosa, OK and Patricia (Roger) Davis of Crown Point, IN; grandchildren: Christopher (Kymber) Hyatte, Malissa "Annie" (Eric) Mosak, Jason (fiancee Amanda Zoller) Spaetti, and Jody (Chad) Garrett; dear great grandchildren: Reed and Carleen Hyatte, Matthew and Riley Mosak and Madilyn Rose Garrett. Graveside services and interment will take in Bartlesville, OK. Minnie Alberta Samuels-Miller died on March 12, 2011 at the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA of natural causes after a long illness. Born in East Chicago, IN on September 17, 1926, she was the daughter of Adline Smith and David Samuels.

Ms. Samuels moved to the Arlington, VA area in November 1988. Survivors include her son, Ter-rance Kyle of Manhattan, NY; daughters: Janise Kyle of Arlington, VA and Carolyn (Milton) Harris Miller of Frankfort, KY; sister, Anna Mae Hood of Jackson, TN; and grandchildren: Matthew Harris of Denver, CO, Whitney Harris of Beaufort, SC and Terrance Miller of Arlington, VA; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by daughter, Linda E. Miller.

Ms. Samuels was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She dedicated her life to caring for her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. Ms. Samuels was cremated and a private family burial memorial will take place on May 28, 2011.

MARJORIE "MARGE" SMITHURST CEDAR LAKE, IN Marjorie "Marge" Smithurst, age 99 and 11 months, of Cedar Lake, IN, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 at St. Anthony's Hospital, Crown Point, IN. She was born April 21, 1911 in Dysart, IA to John and Verna (Myers) Meeker. Marge graduated from Nursing School in 1933 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

She later married and moved to Berwyn, IL. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leo Ford. She later married Leonard Smithurst. They moved to Cedar Lake in 1979. Leonard died in 1997.

Marge is survived by her nephew, Roger Meeker and his family; her niece, Debra Boice; and she had special friends: LouAnn and Ralph Miller, Teri and Ilija Ristesci and Jean and BobEberle. Marge was a memeber of the Cedar Lake Keenagers and was an official die hard Cubs Fan. She frequented the Cedar Lake Kitchen or Harry O's Restau-rrant on a daily basis for break-' fast until January. VALPARAISO, IN Cyrus Moayad, M.D. (1928-2011) of Valparaiso recently passed away peacefully at his home. Dr. Moayad is survived by his children: Kim-berly (Terry) of Valparaiso, Daniel (Chrystine) of California, and Anthony of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Daniel, Joshua and Madilyn of California; sister, Mehrnaz Moayad of Valparaiso; brother, Ehssan Moayad of Austria; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dr.

Moayad was born in Persia and educated in Switzerland. His pre-medical and medical training were in Geneva, Switzerland. He completed his surgical head and neck training at Cleveland Clinic. He was a Fellow and member of many national and international medical and surgical societies. He chose to come to Valparaiso in 1968 where he practiced until his retirement in 2002.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at -Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN. A memorial visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with service to follow. Moore, age 64 of Lansing, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Susan (nee De Peder); five children: Theresa (Mark) August, Terri Harrison, Tricia (Brian) Hanas, Todd Moore and Trent Moore; grandchildren: Austin, Aiden, Rylee, Brittany, Jayden and Christian; two brothers; and one sister. Edward was preceded in death by his parents: Arnold and Georgia Moore; and one sister, Sarah (late William) Hale. Mr. Moore was a proud veteran of the U.S.
