Valparaiso, Ind. Tuesday, June 23, 1959 Woman's Page Social, Weddings, Club Events And Other Activities Local De Molay Sets Semi-Annual Installation Date Valparaiso Chapter, Order of DeMolay, sponsored by Porter Lodge 137 will hold its installation of officers on Saturday, June 27. During the evening, Richard Silverthorn, son of Mrs. Mary Silverthorn of Chesterton, will be inducted into the office of Master Councilor, the chapter's highest office. Richard attends Chesterton High school where he will be a senior next fall.

At the same time two local youths, William Keene and 1 Terry Collings, will be installed as Senior and Junior Councilor, ly. Bill is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Keene of Valparaiso. He recently represented Valparaiso High school at Boys State.

Terry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Collings, also of Valparaiso. Terry is also active in Boy Scout work. Richard, Bill and Terry were elected by the chapter's ship to preside during all sessions for the next six months.

The chapter meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month under the sponsorship of interested Masons. Jessie Boston of Hobart is the current "Dad" Senior Advisor. Assisting are Glenn homer Smith, Don Gilger, Frank 2. Collings, Norman Keene, Paul Randle and Louis L. Hamacher.

The elected officers have selected Theodore Rybak, George Skull, Larry Smith, Douglas Dye, les Fletcher, Chester Michaels, John Helman, George Warnock, James Donley, Kenneth Corneil, Richard Babcock, Lindholm, Larry Will, Jeff Anderson, Fred Ehnes, William Eckert and Donald Kurfman to fill the appointive offices of the chapter during ensuing term. Master Councilor Elect Silverthorn and his brother officers will be installed by Martin Ericson of Chesterton, assisted by Norman Keene and Frank Z. Collings. Two Past Master Councilors, Kenneth Haughee and Donald Gilger, also of Chesterton, will take part in the installation. The semi-public installation will be held in the lodge room of the local Masonic Temple at 8:00 p.m., followed by a reception in the dining room for the officers and their friends.

Wheeler WSCS Holds Its Annual Picnic At The Neat Brown Home June 17 the Wheeler W. S. C. gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs.

Neal Brown, 1 Valparaiso, for the group's annual picnic. Fourteen members, two guests and two children enjoyed the afternoon. October 1 has been picked as the date for the Fall festival and bazaar at the Wheeler Methodist church. Members are asked to remember that date. James Augustine, and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Davidson of the Dry Goods department of the Lowenstine store, left Sunday for New York city, where they will visit the markets to complete their Fall lines. LONG LAKE COUPLE WED 25 YEARS SUNDAY To commemorate their silver wedding anniversary, Mr. and Mrs.

Guy Lang of RFD 5, Long lake, are going to hold open house on Sunday afternoon, June 28, from 2 to 5 p.m. and they will welcome their friends and relatives. Mrs. Arthur Lutwyche of Hillcrest has heard from her sister, Nettie Feigh, whose Paris home is also in Hillcrest Park, that she is now visiting in Loogootee, with her niece, Mrs. Walter Brown, enroute here from Sebring, where she has been spending the winter.

The baby girl born June 20 to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon H. Beatty has been named Pamela Sue. She has a sister Vicki Lynn age three and one half.

Mrs. Beatty is the former Darlene Hendricks. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John M.

Hendricks of RR 2 Valparaiso and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Willis Beatty of Kittanning, Pa. Mrs. Ida Lambert, 103 Monroe street, has sent in the newest address of her son, Pvt.

Dennis C. Lambert, who has recently completed his boot training and on Aug. 10 will be sent to Alaska. His mail should now be addressed as follows: Pvt. Dennis C.

Lambert, 1860909, US MC India 2nd Bat. 2nd ITR, MCB, Camp Pendieton, Plat. 2. Mrs. Bob Knudson and her daughters, Lois and Sandy, are here from Livermore, having arrived last Thursday.

Mrs. Robert Hall and Mrs. Elsie Hall 1 met them at the airport at O'Hare field. They will make an extended visit here with Mrs. Knudson's mother, Mrs.

Elsie Hall, and her brother, Robert Hall and wife, as well as visit in South Bend with Knudson's sister, Mrs. Ward Severeid and family. Eugene Stump of the air force visited his parents last week, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Stump, 604 Brick street.

Gene left Sunday morning for New Jersey, from where he will fly to France, where he will be stationed. for the next three years. His wife and children are in Montana and will join him as soon as housing can be arranged. On Saturday evening a family picnic was enjoyed at his parents' home. Those present were Kenny Stump, Mr.

and Mrs. Clifford Stump. and family, Mrs. Beulah Heistand and Mr. and Mrs.

Wayne Moser and family. Mrs. Harvey Kremke of Porter and Mrs. Roy Vernon of Valparaiso returned from South Bend Saturday where thew attended the FOE Ladies auxiliary 11th annual state convention. Mrs.

Kremke and Mrs. Vernon attended the entire three day convention where Mrs. Vernon was appointed to serve as state pianist and Mrs. Kremke on the judging committee for ritual competition. They are both past presidents of Valparaiso auxiliary 2517.

Attending the session Friday from this auxiliary were Mrs. Clyde Rittel, Mrs. Arthur Denny, Mrs. Frank Ralston, Mrs. Boyd Graves, Mrs.

Alvia Hitesman and Mrs. Arno Miller. MRS. FELTEN'S PUPILS PRESENTED IN RECITAL The pupils of Mrs. Arnold Felten presented their first recital on Friday evening, June 19, at seven o'clock in Valparaiso University Recital hall.

Each student played two solo selections and took part in a duet. Those participating were: Mariann Hiatt, Bonnie Beldon, Becky Beldon, Michael Hiatt, Connie Dean, Michael Felten, Steven Ferguson, Richard Felten, Cheryl Koester, Carol Waldschmidt, Eunice Kroenke, and Tasha Beach. The students, their parents and friends attended a reception at Mrs. Felten's home after the recital. Field wife, former Valparaiso residents, observed their golden wedding anniversary last Saturday at Nappanee, where they have made their home for the past 32 years. A family dinner was served at the Cafe Saturday evening with Clarence Field, of Valparaiso, a brother, in attendance along with Harry Field, a nephew, and his wife and daughter, Jeanette. A daughter, Mrs. Jake Williams, of Chesterton, and her husband and family were in attendance as well as relatives from Goshen, Elkhart, Bristol, an Marion, and a son, Howard, now living in California, returned home via plane, to be present.

The Fields have six children: Leslie, of Marion; Howard, Fresno, Glen, Austin, Myrtle (Field) Williams, Chesterton; Mary (Field) Clouse, Nappanee, and Rae Ellen (Field) Wenger, of Elkhart. Besides a wonderful assortment of gifts congratulation cards were received from far and wide from their many friends. Field was employed at the Valparaiso Vidette for many years and was shop foreman at the Valparaiso Messenger prior to going to Nappanee to publish the Nappanee Advance-News. He retired from active employment July 1, 1954. HAVING SALAD BAR A salad bar will precede the regular meeting of the Wesleyan Service Guild when the members meet this Wednesday evening at 6:30 o'clock at the home of Mrs.

William Reid. Say Vows In Early June Rite Wedding vows were exchanged in 1 First Presbyterian church, on Saturday, June 6, by Miss Mary Etta Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Davis, 503 Elm street, and John Arthur Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs.

James Clark, 707 McCord road. Miss Sherri Gore of Valparaiso sang for the 6 p. m. double ring service performed by the Rev. Oliver C.

Starn. The altar decorated with bouquets of white. peonies. Members of the bridal party were Mrs. Jeanne Montgomery of RFD 1, Chesterton, sister of the groom, matron of honor, with the Misses Irma Davis first bridesmaid; Carol Davis, second bridesmaid, and Janice Davis, junior bridesmaid.

Elizabeth Principe was flower girl and Steven Gregory ring bearer. Virgil Montgomery, Chesterton, was best man, with Jerry Hawkins and Burton Smith of Valparaiso, ushers, and David Davis, junior usher. Miss Davis approached the altar on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. was wearing a bridal gown of lace and nylon net over satin. The full skirt was floor length and the fitted bodice had a V-neckline and long sleeves with bridal points at the wrists.

Her fingertip veil was of nylon net. A white orchid rested on the white Bible which she carried. Mrs. Montgomery's ballerina length white and turquoise gown (Photo -Conrad Kite, Clinton, Ind.) John Arthur Clark and Bride (Mary Etta Davis) was worn with a turquoise hat. She carried tinted carnations.

The first bridesmaid wore a blue and white ballerina dress with a blue net hat and carried blue tinted carnations, the second bridesmaid's identical attire was of yellow, and the junior bridesmaid wore pink with pink flowers in her hair. Little Elizabeth Principe's ballerina length frock was of turquoise with pink rosebuds in her hair. A reception followed the nup- approximately 350 in attendance, some of these were from Detroit, Bend, Clinton, Terre Haute, Lapel, Lebanon and Hammond. The couple received many beautigifts which were opened and displayed. Clark and his bride left Monday morning following wedding for California where the groom is stationed at Castle Air Force base.

A "Trip to Paris" has been promised for the next meeting which will be held in the Hebron Legion home with Mrs. Virgil Hullihan, Mrs. Harold Carlson and Mrs. Earl Thompson as co-hostesses.
