"Ike" Murley, age 84, of Sun City Center, FL and formerly of Gary, IN passed away February 2, 2013. She retired from Walgreens as a service clerk after 19 years of service and retired from Goldblatts as a floor manager after 34 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Murley. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Christine Mayes and Diana Olivo and her husband, Edward Olivo, a brother, Steve Bennett; and two grandchildren: Lauren Olivo and Edward Olivo, Jr. A memorial service will be held in Indiana at a later date.

Jones, age 84, of Valparaiso passed away Friday, February 1, 2013 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was born July 29, 1928 in Laporte IN to Sophia and Stanley Cygan both of whom preceded her in death. On February 14, 1987 in Maui Hawaii she married William P.

Jones who preceded her in death on August 19, 2011. Martha leaves behind her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, grandson, brothers and sisters. Martha enjoyed her aerobics class, talking politics, gardening and watching Jeopardy. She loved traveling and enjoyed her trips to Europe.

Martha and Bill traveled every year on their anniversary to Hawaii. A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 12:00 from the White-Love Funeral Home 525 South 2nd St. Chesterton with Lorrayne Rizer officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until time of service. Memorials may be given in Martha's name to the VNA Hospice.

CLARA LOTTIE NELSON CHESTERTON, IN Clara Lottie Nelson age 85 of Chesterton passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Valparaiso Care and Rehabilitation Center, Valparaiso. There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 North Calumet Road, Chesterton, with Father James Meade officiating.

KRAL CHESTERTON, IN Anna M. Kral, 92, of Chesterton, IN, formerly of Calumet City, IL, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at home. She was born March 8, 1920 in Chicago to Joseph and Katherine (Plesha) Ladisic. Anna was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center in Valparaiso and a former member of Our Lady of Knock Catholic Church in Calumet City.

In 1948 in Decatur, MI she married Mathias Kral, who preceded her in death in 2004. Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, and special friend, Scout. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Lucille Oreskovich, Mary Novosel, Mildred Haynes and Catherine Kountz; and an infant brother, Joseph Ladisic. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center, 1511 LaPorte Valparaiso, the Rev.

Lopez, age 72, of Calumet City, IL, passed away on January 31, 2013. Julia was preceded in death by her husband, Jesus Lopez; parents: Miguel and Lucila Esqueda; brother, Luis; and daughter-in-law, Terry Lopez. Survived by her sister, Ana (Isau) Pesina of San Antonio, TX and her six children: Jesus Lopez Jr. of Dallas, TX, Pablo (Oralia) Lopez of Calumet City, IL, Gricelda (George Jr.) Sandona of Tampa, FL, Lucila (David Larson) Lopez of Tampa, FL, Miguel Lopez (Yesenia) of Tampa, FL, and Melissa (Brad) Lopez-Gary of Valparaiso, IN; 15 grandchildren: Kristy, Angelina, Silvia, Vanessa, Gabriella, Dion, Jasmine, Isaac, Antonio, Hayley, Mia, Braden, Mark, Sam and Louis; and her niece, Roxanna Pesina, San Antonio, TX. Julia resided in Calumet City for 47 years and was originally from Laredo, TX.

Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Church, 768 Lincoln Calumet City, IL. 708-862-4165 on February 8, 2013. DALE OLSON MD VALPARAISO, IN Dale Olson MD, age 84 of Valparaiso, IN, passed away February 5, 2013.

He was born on January 5, 1929 in, Gary, IN to Arvid Eugene and Julia M. Olson, both of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Mickey Olson, of Valparaiso, IN; son, Rick (Joan) Olson, of Valparaiso, IN; daughter, Randi Olson, of Valparaiso, IN; sister, Marion Wilson, of CA; grandchildren: Rickie and Alex Olson, Ryan and Danny Cutter; close family friend, Jim Richart, of South Haven, IN; and his beloved and loyal Great Dane, Mac. He was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Olson. Dale graduated from Northwestern University in 1950, Indiana University in 1954, Intern and Residency 1955 General Surgery 1956 and Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Indiana University Medical School in 1959.

He was also a Naval Surgeon and officer for two years. He truly loved and had a passion for medicine and helping people. Dale enjoyed traveling the world with his wife Mickey. He had a great love for the family horses and dogs and enjoyed all types of music. He was an avid outdoorsman.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and bird watching. Private Family Services to be held at a later date. Carme was a member of Sacred Heart Croatian Church. In addition to being a devoted housewife, she worked at Gayety Candy Company in Chicago for over 25 years. Carme was an avid Bears and White Sox fan, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Babe" and son, Robert (MaryAnn). He is survived by his wife, Pam (nee Griffin); seven children: Terry (Kathy) Jostes, Jerome (Heidi) Jostes, John (Jeannie) Stange, Tammy (Pete) Keilman, Jim (Michele) Stange, Julie Jostes, and Margaret (Dave) Moore; ten grandchildren: Zachary, Hunter, Paige, Scott, Rachel, Savanna, Lanie, Olivia, Sullivan and Justi; one great grandson; one sister: Marcyann (late Jack) Hinton; one brother: Timothy (Sandy) Jostes; and several nieces and nephews including his favorite nephew, Gary Hinton. HOWARTH "TOM" MUNSTER, IN Thomas R. Howarth age 90, passed away on February 1, 2013. He was retired from Nipsco with 34 years of service. He was involved with Planned Parenthood and the ACLU. Tom is survived by his wife, Jeanne of 69 years; his children: Gary (Matina), Alan (Ramona), and Carol Lamprecht; his sister-in-law, Donna Howarth; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He donated his body to the pathology Department of Indiana University. There will be no memorial service. YUSAF A. RAHEEM MUHAMMAD aka JOE DENT CHICAGO, IL Yusaf A. Raheem Muhammad, age 81, passed away January 30, 2013.

He was born December 29, 1932 to Robert and Liliah Dent. He was faithful and committed to the practicing and teachings of the Nation of Islam. He is survived by one son, Craig (Sara) Dent of Collierville, TN; two daughters: Carmen Dent of Houston, Texas and Candace (Michael) Smith of Collierville, TN; one step son, Charles Allen of Chicago, IL; two step daughters: Gladys and Lois Allen both of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren: Jazzmine Smith, Taylor Dent, Jayla Smith, and Tyson Dent all of Collierville, TN; four step grandchildren: Tiffiany Allen, Paul (Lena) Allen, Gregory Allen, and Undra Allen all of Chicago, IL; and ten step great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers: Sammie and Sidney (Bessie) Dent; and one sister, Ruth Jernigan all from IN. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Burial will be at Oak Woods Cemetery, Chicago, IL. SANDOR "SANDY" HORVATH SCHERERVILLE, IN Sandor Horvath was born March 14, 1936 in Hungary. On February 3, 2013 at 76 years of age; he passed away after a two month battle with cancer.

He leaves behind his most cherished loved ones; wife, Evelyn; nephew, Michael Horvath; niece, Melissa (Mark) Horvath-Bradley; and children: Irene, Alton, Arlen, Alex, and Andrew. Two sisters in Hungary: Gizalla Farkas, and Marika (Laslo) Kokas; including their children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by brother, Nandor (2007); wife, Mary (2011); and nephew, Norman (2012). Please visit us at www.burnskish.com NIKOLA JOCIC CROWN POINT, IN Nikola Jocic, age 70 of Crown Point, passed away Wednesday February 6, 2013. Nikola was a life long member of St Elijah Serbian Orthodox Cathedral and held the past position of secretary of it's Executive Board. Nikola was a founding member of the Dinara Soccer Club and carried the position of the club's first Coach.

Nikola loved all sports but especially soccer. He was a retired employee with over 30 years of service from US Steel, Gary Works. Mr. Jocic is preceded in death by his parents: Djuro and Mika Jocic; and his brother, Branko Jocic. Nikola is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dusanka (Trkulja) Jocic; three beloved children: Branko (Nancy) Jocic, Dragana (Momcilo) Despinich, and Dusan (Vesna) Jocic; five grandchildren: Nicolina Despinich, Jovan Jocic, Zachary Despinich, Nikola Jocic, and Branislav Jocic; two sisters: Dusanka Vujatovic and Dara Kladarin and families all of Serbia; and many other nieces, nephews, family members, kumovi and lifelong friends.

She enjoyed photography, music, and was a huge Bears fan. Through Father Schulte, she became a professional clown known as Hyper. Lee of Kouts, age 98, passed away February 5, 2013. He was born November 25, 1914, in Hutton, IN, to Harry and Anna (Meehling) Lee and was raised in Marshall, IL, where his family farmed. In 1939 he moved to Gary, IN, working at Grantham Motors as a mechanic.

He served his country from October, 1941 to September, 1945, as a Jeep mechanic and combat infantryman with the 5th Army Red Bull Division throughout North Africa and Italy during WWII. In November, 1945, he married Mildred A. Krieter, of Merrillville, his bride of 65 years, who preceded him in death in 2011. Ed and Mildred spent 24 years farming in Merrillville, later moving to LaCrosse, where they continued farming until 1985. After retirement, they enjoyed being "winter Texans," where they made many wonderful friends.

Ed's faith and love of family were the hallmarks of his life. Benefiting from his love, wit and wisdom, he leaves six children: Carol of Merrillville, Ronald (Terry) of Knox, Thomas of Minneapolis, MN, Nancy (Tom Korty) of Mulberry, Linda (Roy Wensley) of Concord, CA, Raymond (Kimberly) of Chesterfield, MO, and Frank Stubbs, whom he loved like a son; 11 grandchildren: Laura (Dan) Darda, David (Becca) Lee, Andy (Kristin) Korty, Becky (Phil) Ranck, Emma Korty (David Plummer) and Peter Korty, Ryan, Jason and Jordan Wensley, Jacob and Alex Lee; 10 great-grandchildren: Ben, Daniel, Amanda, Kaitlin, Aaron, Anna, Vincent, Bruce, Lydia, and Heather; two sisters: Mary McConville of North Hollywood, CA, and Rose Woodward of Crestview, FL, also survive. She was born July 15, 1957 in Indianapolis, IN to William and Marcella (Many) Merkley and graduated from Center Grove High School in 1975. Jeannine had been a Mortgage Loan Officer with J.P. Morgan Chase in Chesterton, IN for the past 25 years.

She enjoyed spending her leisure time shopping with her girls, attending concerts, wine tasting excursions, community events and spoiling her grandchildren. Survivors include her children: Melissa (Brian) Comerford of Westfield, IN, Angela Moore (Shawn Stevens) of LaPorte, IN Nathan Moore (Jessica Lampman) of Westville, IN; their fathers: Alvin Scholl of Greenfield, IN, John Moore of Valparaiso, IN; her parents: William and Marcella Merkley; brothers and sister: Phil Merkley, D.J.
